Delete your account & data
Applies to the PlayersEngine website and the PlayersEngine mobile apps · Last updated: August 18, 2026
Summary
You can delete your PlayersEngine account yourself, at any time, from inside the app or the website — no support ticket needed. Deletion is recoverable for 30 days; after that it completes automatically and cannot be undone. You can also delete individual content and data without deleting your account, or ask us to do it for you by email.
1. Delete your account (self-service)
On the website (beta.playersengine.com):
- Sign in and open Settings → Account.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone and choose Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out everywhere.
In the PlayersEngine mobile app: open your Profile → Settings → Account and choose Delete account, then confirm. Both paths trigger exactly the same process described below.
2. What happens next — the 30-day recovery window
- Immediately: your profile is hidden from other users, you are signed out on every device, and your account stops earning or granting anything on the platform. Nothing is erased yet.
- During the next 30 days: if you change your mind, simply sign back in — you will be offered to cancel the deletion and your account is restored exactly as it was.
- At the end of the window (in all cases within 30 days of your request): erasure completes automatically. This is final and cannot be reversed. We send a confirmation email to the address on the account when the deletion is scheduled and when it completes.
3. What is deleted
Once erasure completes, the following is permanently deleted or irreversibly unlinked from you:
- Your sign-in credentials and email address (your PlayersEngine login is removed).
- Your profile identity: gamerTag, display name, bio, location, languages, social and streaming links, avatar, banner, setup / battlestation photos, showcase and rigs, game progress and achievements, avatar frames, badges and other cosmetics.
- Connected gaming and social accounts (Steam, Battle.net, PlayStation, Xbox, Discord, Twitch, Kick, YouTube, Epic, Supercell…): access tokens are revoked and deleted, and the link is removed.
- Notifications, follows and friend relationships, blocks, quest and challenge progress.
- Your guestbook: the wall on your profile and every note other members left on it are removed.
- Referral codes you created are deactivated, so nobody can sign up with them after you leave.
4. What is kept, and why
A small set of records is retained after erasure. None of them can be used to identify you.
- Your posts, comments, clips and the guestbook notes you left on other profiles are anonymised, not removed. The author becomes “[Deleted User]” with no name, avatar or link back to you, so other members’ conversations and walls stay intact. If you would rather have specific content removed entirely, delete it yourself before deleting the account (see § 5) or ask us (see § 6).
- Referral records — a referral code you created stays reserved (deactivated) and the members who signed up with it keep a reference to the code, not to you, so the benefits they earned through it are honoured.
- Billing records (PlayersEngine PRO invoices and payment events) — kept for the period required by tax and accounting law.
- Moderation records (reports, tickets and decisions), with your gamerTag anonymised — kept to enforce our Terms and protect other users.
- A one-way hash of each gaming account you had verified — it cannot be reversed into the original account and is kept solely to prevent the same third-party gaming identity from being reused to farm rewards on a new account.
- Aggregated, anonymised analytics that cannot reasonably be linked to you (kept indefinitely).
5. Delete some data without deleting your account
You stay in control of your data while your account is active:
- Posts, comments, clips, guestbook notes:delete any of your own content from its ⋯ menu; it is removed from the platform immediately (media files are purged from storage shortly after). Account deletion anonymises this content rather than removing it (see § 4) — delete it yourself first if you don’t want it to remain at all.
- Photos and profile fields: remove or replace your avatar, banner, setup photos and any profile text from Settings → Account and Edit profile.
- Connected accounts: disconnect any linked gaming or social account from Settings → Connected accounts; its tokens are deleted at once.
- Cookies and analytics:change your choices at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
6. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access your account, or you want specific data removed that you cannot delete yourself, email privacy@playersengine.com from the address registered on the account (or tell us your gamerTag and we will verify ownership another way). State whether you want the whole account or specific data deleted. We process requests within 30 days and confirm by email. The same 30-day recovery window and retention rules above apply.
