PlayersEngine (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our platform (“the Platform” or “Service”).
By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, please do not access or use the Platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: email address, username (GamerTag), display name, profile picture, bio, and date of birth.
- Connected gaming accounts: when you link a third-party account (Steam, Battle.net, Xbox, Epic Games, Discord, etc.), we receive an access token and the account data those services make available, such as game library, achievements, and player ID.
- Content you create: posts, comments, reactions, and any media you upload.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team.
We also collect certain information automatically when you use the Platform:
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
- Device information: operating system, device identifiers.
- Usage data: features you interact with, clicks, and session duration.
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform and its features.
- Create and manage your account, including verification of your identity.
- Display your gaming stats, achievements, and social activity to other users.
- Personalise your experience and deliver content relevant to you.
- Send transactional notifications (email verification, security alerts, account activity).
- Send marketing communications if you have opted in to our mailing list.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and detect, prevent, and address abuse or fraud.

4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following circumstances:
- With other users: your public profile, GamerTag, posts, and activity may be visible to other registered users based on your privacy settings.
- Service providers: we engage third-party companies (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to a successor entity.
- With your consent: in any other case where you have given us explicit consent.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
Aggregated and anonymised data (which cannot reasonably be used to identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics and platform improvement purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure:request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection / Restriction: object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember your preferences (such as language), and analyse usage patterns. Strictly necessary cookies (authentication session, language preference) are set automatically. Analytics and preference cookies require your consent where applicable law mandates it.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from using certain parts of the Platform.
8. Third-Party Services and Connected Accounts
When you connect a third-party gaming account, you authorise us to access data from that service as described in their respective privacy policies. We only request the permissions necessary to provide the Platform’s features. You can disconnect any linked account at any time from Settings → Connected Accounts.
Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
11. International Data Transfers
PlayersEngine is operated from Italy. If you are accessing the Platform from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), your data may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
